Starting in Queenstown, you travel north crossing Cook Strait to Wellington. Once exploring the hot springs of Rotorua your tour finishes in the ‘city of sails’ Auckland.

Day 1 - Arrive Queenstown
Be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel.
Two Night Stay: Queenstown, Kingsgate Hotel Terraces

Day 2 - Queenstown, Milford Sound
Independent Touring: This morning travel to Milford Sound for a cruise along this incredible fiord. Return to Queenstown.

Day 3 - Queenstown, Haast
Today join your escorted tour as you depart Queenstown and journey up the west coast through Haast Pass to Haast.
Stay: Haast World Heritage Hotel

Day 4 - Haast, Greymouth
Enjoy the incredible west coast scenery of mountains, glaciers, raging rivers and rare wildlife. Continue to World Heritage-listed Westland National Park and perhaps take a scenic flight (own expense, weather permitting). Journey to Hokitika and see pounamu (jade) being carved.

Day 5 - TranzAlpine Train, Christchurch
Visit Shantytown, a recreated gold rush town,then continue to Punakaiki to view the Pancake Rocks. Board the award-winning TranzAlpine train for a spectacular journey to Christchurch.

Day 6 - Christchurch, Picton
Journey to Kaikoura, a town famous for whale watching. Continue to Blenheim and visit Montana Brancott Winery for a tour and tasting.

Day 7 - Picton, Wellington
Cruise Cook Strait to Wellington for a sightseeing tour, then visit the Museum of New Zealand.

Day 8 - Wellington, Napier
Cross the Rimutaka Ranges into the district of Wairarapa. Travel through Hawke’s Bay to Napier.

Day 9 - Napier, Rotorua
See Napier’s Art Deco architecture on a walking tour. Travel to Lake Taupo, and Rotorua via Huka Falls and Wairakei Park. Tonight enjoy a Maori hangi feast and performance of song and dance.
Two Night Stay: Rotorua, Hotel Ibis

Day 10 - Rotorua
Visit Te Puia Thermal Reserve, tour the Maori Arts and Crafts Institute and see a farm show at the Agrodome.

In Waitomo join a guided tour of the limestone caves lit by glow-worms. Later arrive in Auckland.
