Food & Beverage Facilities Vatulele Island Resort is recognized for providing guests the opportunity to experience the best food and beverage in the region. It offers outstanding Pacific Rim cuisine with an emphasis on using ingredients of the freshest and highest quality. Many dishes include fresh seafood from the Fijian waters and ingredients grown in the resort’s own organic garden. Additionally a selection of ingredients is also flown in from Australia and New Zealand.
In the welcoming warm weather, dining is on the terrace of the large central pavilion overlooking the lagoon. The dining experience is typically individual however on special evenings there is an option to join a table hosted by the management, set in the style of a Captain’s table on a ship. There are many options for private dining in your own bure, in ‘The Folly’ or on the beach set beneath the stars and lit with lanterns and candlelight. At full moon, the ‘dining room’ is usually set by the water’s edge. Our extensive wine cellar offers an outstanding selection of wines to compliment the delicious cuisine and stunning settings.
Wedding – Please ask for rates A Vatulele wedding is where the fantasy of a lifetime comes true! For many career-minded couples, organizing a wedding takes an enormous effort that the idea of ‘eloping’ can become extremely attractive, especially when the wedding can take place in the serene romantic setting of Vatulele Island Resort.
The service is often held on the private beach at sunset, in a ‘church’ with doors and windows created from plaited coconut leaves and flowers. Occasionally, traditionally dressed Fijian warriors accompany the bride on a tranquil barge trip across the lagoon whilst the bride is carried ashore to take her vows. The ceremony is accompanied by the charming voices of a village choir raised in sublime harmony.
Wedding ceremonies at Vatulele Island Resort are not merely a show. The vows are solemnized by a Fijian minister, and as a result of their popularity, weddings are limited to only a few per month. Each wedding is tailored according to the guest’s requirements, with romantic and traditional options including traditional Kava ceremony and dancing to a vast selection of romantic dinner locations.
Diving The quality of scuba diving sites at Vatulele has been one of the South Pacific’s well-kept secrets for many years. Vatulele is the only five-star island resort with a PADI Golden Palm dive facility, complete with two resident dive instructors. The island is surrounded by deep water and offers twenty-two dive sites within fifteen minutes motor boat ride. It is one of the premier dive destinations in the region, offering daily certified courses within a cross section of diving environments.
