Aitutaki Day Tour - $450 per person The Aitutaki Day Tour operates daily except Sunday, taking you to one of the worlds most beautiful lagoons, offering the opportunity to snorkel and relax in clear turquoise water. Departing from Rarotonga Airport at 8am and returning at 6.30pm, an all day itinerary includes hotel transfers, inter-island airfares, Aitutaki Circle Island tour and lagoon cruise with barbecue lunch.
The Day Tour starts with a coach transfer from all hotels and motels to Rarotonga International Airport. The flight takes 40 minutes on Air Rarotongas new Saab 340 pressurized aircraft, during which a light breakfast is served. On arrival at Aitutaki you will be taken on a short island tour by le truck lasting around one and a half hours and during which a stop is made at the local village market featuring souvenir T-shirts and locally made artifacts.
Then it's time to visit Akitua where the 71 foot traditionally designed catamaran Titi Ai Tonga departs from. Equipped with on board toilets, BBQ facilities and bar, Titi Ai Tonga quests can enjoy both covered comfort and open deck views during the five-hour lagoon excursion. From Akitua, you get the opportunity to visit the uninhabited offshore islands (motu) before heading out to the reef to experience some of the best snorkeling and fish feeding in the Pacific. Snorkel amongst schools of colorful butterfly fish, hand feed schools of playfully banded Sergeant Major fish and see giant clams in their natural habitat.
When you smell the onions, its time to board the boat for what has been described as one of the best fresh fish BBQ for miles in one of the best settings on earth. Titi Ai Tonga becomes a floating restaurant with one of the best views around. Here, guests can enjoy a leisurely lunch on route to world-renowned Tapuaetai ~One Foot Island.
