It was New Year knocking at the door and I wanted to bid farewell to the year in a different way. For a long time I was very much looking forward to a welcome break and set for a vacation, which will color up the boredom of my daily chores in a nice way. So, I soon donned my travel gear and set forth for a wonderful New Year in Fiji.
So the journey began and found myself relaxing in the Qantas Lounge in Auckland airport in between the layover of 10 hours fly from Tahiti to Fiji. It was the rain in Auckland, which stood out to be the barrier and prevented us from taking a sightseeing trip of the city and hence we took shelter in the cozy comfort of the airport lounge. The experience was not at all bad, the newspaper, the Internet access, the luxurious showers and plenty of food and drink never made me feel dissatisfied.
After arriving at Fiji, quickly we organized a stay decked in comfort in one of the several fascinating beach resorts of the island paradise. So the sojourn began. Fiji people are very friendly and it will keep on ringing in your ears amidst the chaos of the market place, the heavy smell of incense sticks and curries, the friendly call of the hospitable residents. They will always welcome you with open arms and referring you as friends and not mere customers. The warmth will touch one’s heart for sure.
The fascinating part of our journey happened to be the one, when we took the boat to the main town of Nadi. We also visited Mamacunas and Yasawa ranges, they happen to be the two fabulous spots in Fiji and worth a visit in true term The amplitude of beautiful resorts, the vibrant palm trees, the sea breeze, the wide range of water sports will surly fill up your mind and soul with a cozy feeling off course.
The New Year day was spent in the beautiful resort. It was a newly made establishment exclusively built for a reality TV show and hence the accommodation and the ambiance put forward the true charm to the patrons. The party arranged for New Year’s Eve was simply awesome. The itinerary included a fantastic fire dancing show. There were several other enchanting programs in the list. The greatest attraction was the Mr. Fiji contest. So it was an out and out enjoyable show taking us to the dawn of 2010 and we welcomed the New Year amidst fun and galore. Beautiful Fiji wished us “Happy New Year” and the cherishing experience left us mesmerized.
Thank you Fiji!
